These 2 Samsung smartphones beat Apple iPhone X as the highest-selling smartphones globally



The Samsung Galaxy S9 as managed to snatch the title of best selling smartphone from Apple iPhone X. As per the latest research from Counterpoint’s Market Pulse, Samsung’s Galaxy S9 series became the best seller globally, pushing Apple’s iPhone X to the third spot.
The Samsung Galaxy S9+ and the Galaxy S9 grabbed the 1st and 2nd spot respectively as the smartphones captured a global market share of 2.6% each. The research highlights that the growth in the sales has been driven by the impressive performance of the devices in the Asia-Pacific and North America region.

However, Apple still managed to maintain a strong hold in the market by dominating the list with five devices. The iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 8 sit on the third, fourth and fifth position respectively. The iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus managed to grab a global market share of 2.3%, whereas the iPhone 8 has 2.2% market share. Along with this, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 are still in high demand, according to the research. The iPhone 6 captures the 7th position while the iPhone 7 is on the 9th rank in the list.
 
Apart from this, the Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi also grabbed two spots in the list of best selling smartphones. The two smartphones that made to the list are -- Xiaomi Redmi 5A and the Redmi 5 Plus (known as the Note 5 in certain markets). This is the first time that Xiaomi captured two positions in the list.
Talking about the future trend it is expected that both Samsung and Apple will continue giving competition to each other with the launch of their future devices. It is expected that the yet-to-be launched new iPhone and the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will give a fierce competition to each other in order to capture the top spot.
